How healthy is your dog?

When feeding food to your canine, you should consider healthy food for dogs. Such food will not only taste good to your dog, but will be good for the health short-term and long-term. As a matter of fact, besides improving your dog’s overall health, such food will also benefit particular organs of your dog, including:

1. The eyes
The vast majority of healthy food for dogs contain ingredients like carrots, which are rich in Vitamin A. Just as Vitamin A can benefit humans’ eyesight, it can also make your dog’s vision sharper. Equally important is this vitamin’s ability to prevent your dog from coming down with various eye diseases. That includes the disease glaucoma. A buildup of fluid within the eye causes glaucoma, resulting in an excess of pressure on the animal’s optic nerve.

2. The heart
Just as organic food can benefit your heart, it’s also good for your canine’s heart. For instance, natural dog foods often contain the ingredient taurine. This is an organic acid and one of the few “sulfonic acids” that occur naturally. Studies have indicated that taurine is crucial in the heart health of canines. In fact, dogs with certain heart diseases have lived significantly longer lives after receiving a small amount of taurine!

3. The skin
We often do not think of the skin as an organ, but it is the largest organ of dogs (and humans). It is common for healthy food for dogs to contain certain needed fatty acids, such as those present in potatoes or rice. These fatty acids are very important because they keep your dog’s skin healthy and its coat shiny. At the same time, they can prevent different skin allergies.

When selecting food for “man’s best friend,” consider natural ones rather than those with unhealthy additives. You won’t be sorry once you see how greatly they benefit your canine’s health from head to tail!
